Electronic firecrackers are an environmentally friendly electronic product that simulates the sound and light effects of traditional firecrackers. They use a gunpowder-free design and achieve sound and light simulation through circuit modules that drive sound, flashing lights, and transmission devices. Common types include thunder-type simulators, recorded firecrackers, and electronic firecracker machines. The product appearance is divided into standard, rainbow, and deluxe types, equipped with an adjustable number of fuses, and also serves a decorative function. Their advantages include being reusable, causing no air pollution, and reducing fire hazards.

As of 2022, 29 regions nationwide have introduced policies to encourage the use of electronic firecrackers, and the number of registered related enterprises continues to grow. In 2025, Huanggang City advocates for party members and cadres to take the lead in promoting electronic firecrackers, Changsha City designates restricted areas for firecracker use and recommends them as an environmentally friendly alternative, and Hunan Province proposes giving priority to the use of electronic firecrackers to enhance the festive atmosphere.

The electronic firecracker uses 220V AC as its power source. When the remote control is pressed, the receiving circuit receives the signal and controls the relay to close. Twenty-eight flashlights receive power and produce flashes, simulating the firelight generated by burning firecrackers. The AC power is rectified and filtered through a circuit composed of C1, C2, D1-D4, and C3, resulting in a DC voltage of about 300V. R1, R2, C4, C5, and Q1 form an oscillating circuit; the switching of Q1 generates an alternating magnetic field in the primary of T1, which is coupled to the secondary to produce a high-voltage current that discharges through the copper head, producing a deafening explosion and dazzling flash in the copper head. Adjusting the values of R2 and C4 can control the speed of the explosion sound.

CP-type standard welding pin capacitors can be used in the C3 position for filtering and energy storage. They offer a high cost-performance ratio and reliable operational stability, and can work effectively for a long time in high-power pulse operating environments such as electronic firecrackers, adding a unique atmosphere to festivals.
